Yamhill County Jail Roster

The Yamhill County Jail Roster is a public resource that allows you to find out who is currently in custody at the county correctional facility in the state of Oregon. On the YamhillCourt.us website, you can find publicly available information about current and recent inmates. Additionally, data is available through the official Adults In Custody page on the sheriff's office website, by phone, or in person at the facility. The roster is maintained by the Corrections Division of the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office and is regularly updated to reflect individuals who are actually in custody. The search allows you to check custody status, see charges filed, and obtain basic booking information.

Search Current Inmates in Yamhill Jail

There are several ways to find out if a specific person is in the Yamhill County Jail.

Online Search

  1. Go to the Adults In Custody page on the official Yamhill County website.
  2. The page displays a list of individuals currently held at the Yamhill County Correctional Facility (YCCF). You can browse the list manually or use the browser's search function (Ctrl+F / Cmd+F) to find a last name.
  3. Each entry typically includes the first name, last name, booking date, and charges filed.

Additionally, YamhillCourt.us helps search for publicly available court information related to inmates.

By Phone

Call the jail directly. As noted by the McMinnville Police Department, to find out an inmate's status, contact the Yamhill County Jail:

Yamhill County Correctional Facility (YCCF)
535 NE 5th Street, McMinnville, OR 97128Phone: 503-434-7507YCCF Records: 503-434-7507 ext. 4490Hours (for in-person inquiries at the Sheriff's Office): Tuesday and Thursday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Operators on duty can usually confirm if a person is in custody if you provide the full legal name.

In Person

The Yamhill County Sheriff's Office accepts visitors for in-person inquiries. Visit during business hours and approach the public information window. Be aware of the office closure schedule on holidays.

What you need for the search:

  • Full legal first and last name of the person
  • Booking number, if known

Juvenile offenders are not displayed in the public roster.

Find Yamhill Jail Booking Records Online

A booking record is created each time a person is brought to YCCF and processed. During this procedure, the following are recorded:

  • Unique booking number
  • Date and time of admission
  • Charges filed
  • Arresting agency (Sheriff's Office, McMinnville PD, others)
  • Basic identification information of the detainee

The main part of this information is displayed on the Adults In Custody page while the person is in custody. Once released, the record disappears from the public list.

If you need access to records that are no longer in the online roster, submit a public records request. The Corrections Division accepts such requests through the Record Requests page of the sheriff's office. Yamhill County processes requests in accordance with Oregon's Inspection of Public Records Law (ORS 192), and some information may be restricted — for example, medical data or information related to facility security.

To search for related court cases, use the Yamhill Circuit Court records department or the Oregon eCourt Case Information (OECI) system. If the person has been transferred to the state Department of Corrections, information can be found through the Oregon Offender Search.

Search the Yamhill Jail Roster by Last Name or Booking Number

The YCCF inmate roster supports two main approaches to searching.

Search by Last Name

Open the Adults In Custody page and use the Ctrl+F (or Cmd+F on Mac) key combination to enter the last name. A few tips:

  • Enter the exact spelling of the last name in Latin letters — even one mistake will result in no results.
  • If the last name is common, add the first name to narrow the results.
  • Try a shortened form of the last name if the full search yields nothing — for example, the first five letters.

Search by Booking Number

The booking number is a unique identifier assigned during processing. It provides the most accurate result. This number is usually communicated to relatives during the first phone call from the facility or when contacting Records at 503-434-7507 ext. 4490.

What to do if the search yields no results

  1. Check the spelling of the name.
  2. The person may have already been released — the roster only shows those who are actually in custody at the time of viewing.
  3. The booking may not yet be completed — there is a certain time between physical delivery and appearance in the roster.
  4. Call YCCF directly: 503-434-7507.
  5. For individuals transferred to the state system, check the Oregon Offender Search.

Jail Roster Updates and Search Limitations in Yamhill

The roster on the county website is updated periodically throughout the day, but it does not happen instantly. There may be several hours between the time a person is physically delivered to YCCF and their name appearing in the online list — sometimes longer, depending on the facility's workload and time of day.

Main limitations to be aware of:

  • The roster only reflects the current inmate population. It is not an archive of all past bookings.
  • After release, transfer, or handover to another jurisdiction, the record disappears from the list without notice.
  • Data entry delays occur — especially on weekends and holidays when administrative staff work in a limited capacity.
  • Technical disruptions on the county website sometimes temporarily make the page unavailable.

To obtain historical booking data, submit an official public records request to Yamhill County. Responses are provided in accordance with Oregon's Inspection of Public Records Law, and there may be a fee for copying documents.

Court records related to criminal cases are stored separately at the Yamhill County Circuit Court (25th Judicial District of Oregon). A statewide criminal history check can be ordered through the Oregon State Police.
